![]() HYCHEM PF 9
Chemical Type100% solids, solvent free 2 part amine cured epoxy groutDescriptionHychem PF 9 is a solvent free prefilled high performance epoxy grout that has been formulated to provide superior performance whilst still offering a relatively long pot life with a low exortherm.Hychem PF 9 contains a fine quartz powder but can be bulked out with the further addition of quartz aggregates for larger volume pours to reduce cost and shrinkage exotherm. Major ApplicationsIdeal for the precision grouting of machinery, chock grouting, for use under compressors and machinery that may be subject to thermal expansion and constant vibration. Recommended for use in crusher mills, coke ovens, slab tables, for grouting in holding down bolts and the placement of other equipment in heavy industry. This Hychem system is just one in a complex range of grouting systems which have been developed and manufactured in Australia for a wide range of applications and service environments. Chemical PropertiesEpoxy grouts offer excellent resistance to a variety of acids, caustics and solvents. Epoxy grouts also exhibit 2 to 4 times the compressive strengths and up to 10 times the tensile strength of concrete.Surface PreparationSUB BASE PREPERATION - Ensure that any foundation concrete is properly cured. All surfaces should be clean and free from rust, dust, oil, wax, grease and standing water. Concrete should be scabbled if necessary to remove any weak, crumbly materials. Formwork should be treated with a release agent where required.PLATE & EQUIPMENT PREPARATION - The bonding surface of the base plate to be grouted should be free of coatings, wax, grease or scale. Wax or mask all external areas likely to be affected by rising grout. FORMING - Forms must be liquid tight and ideally should have a moveable head sloped at 45 deg to enhance grout placement. The top of the form should be a minimum of 18mm above the equipment being grouted and the edges should be a minimum of 25mm from each base plate. For deep pours the inclusion of steel reinforcement bars is recommended to eliminate possible stress cracking. Product PreparationThe resin is mechanically mixed with the hardener at the designated mix ratio by volume. Where necessary, quartz aggregate can then be added to the mixed liquids and thoroughly mixed again.Depending upon the application, the addition of up to 45 Kg of fine fillers may be added to a 30 litre kit of the grout to yield 45 litres of mixed grout. Grouting is often carried out in extreme temperature and outdoor environments so care should be taken to take these conditions into account as they will affect the pot life, flow characteristics and curing exotherm of the product. ApplicationPour the mixed material slowly into the prepared void from one side and fill the cavity completely to avoid air entrapment. When grouting bolts, ensure that the hole dimensions are at least 1.5 times the diameter of the insert. The depth of the bolt hole is controlled by the tensile strength of the concrete and the pull out strengths required.THICKNESS - The grout may be applied at thicknesses of 150mm with the addition of fillers. When pour thickness exceeds 150mm the use of reinforcing steel is recommended. For depths of 12mm or less the use of addition fillers not be neccesary. CoverageThe addition of 40 Kg of fillers to a 30 litre kit will yield approximately 45 litres of mixed grout.AdvantagesHigh flow characteristics which can be adjusted to suit conditions.Higher temperature resistance to most grouts. Excellent chemical resistance. Low exothermic temperature. Economical by varying the mix ratio. Fast placement & turn around. PackagingAvailable as a 30 litre kit. Aggregate supplied on demand.Indicative Specifications
